Governor Engler has proclaimed March as "Reading Month." At West Elementary we
have a special project called "Operation Unity Reading."
Activities throughout the month to encourage our students to be life long readers.
We have contacted some famous children and adult authors, along with community leaders. We've asked them to
send a letter to our students encouraging them to read. These letters were placed in a memory/scrapbook. A living time capsule.
The students will be able to "read" their encouraging words.
Below is a list of the authors and community leaders that participated in our project. Some of the authors
have websites with fun things for the students to do and "READ." Just click on a name and open a whole new world to reading!
